Logbook servicing that keeps your warranty intact

Servicing to your manufacturer handbook schedule, with the book stamped, at an independent workshop in Windsor Gardens.

Using us will not void your new car warranty

This is the question we get more than any other, so here is the straight answer. Under Australian Consumer Law a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you had the car serviced somewhere other than a dealership. What matters is that the service is done on schedule, to the manufacturer's specification, with parts and fluids that meet their requirements, by someone qualified to do it.

That is exactly what a logbook service here is. We work to the schedule in your handbook, we use parts and oils that meet the maker's spec. We stamp and date the book so your service history stays unbroken. If you ever sell the car, that history is what a buyer wants to see.

If any workshop or dealer tells you otherwise, the ACCC has published guidance on this and it is worth reading before you hand over more than you need to.

What actually happens at a logbook service

The handbook decides the detail, because a 15,000km service on one car is not the same as another. Broadly, on a routine service you can expect:

  • Engine oil and filter replaced with oil to the correct specification
  • Air filter, cabin filter and fuel filter checked, replaced when the schedule calls for it
  • Brakes inspected, pad and disc wear measured rather than guessed at
  • All fluid levels checked and topped up: coolant, brake fluid, power steering, washers
  • Tyre condition, tread depth and pressures, including the spare
  • Battery tested rather than eyeballed
  • Belts, hoses, suspension and steering components looked over
  • A road test, because some faults only show up with the car moving
  • Book stamped and dated

You hear about it before we do it

If we find something outside the scope of the service we call you, explain what it is and tell you what it will cost. You decide. Nothing extra gets done without you saying yes, so the bill at the end is the number you already agreed to.

We also tell you what can wait. Not everything we find needs doing today. Knowing the difference between "this is unsafe" and "keep an eye on it" is most of what a good mechanic is for.

Questions we get asked

Will servicing here void my new car warranty?

No. Under Australian Consumer Law a manufacturer cannot void your warranty just because an independent workshop did the service. It has to be done on schedule, to their specification, with parts that meet their requirements, by a qualified mechanic. That is how we do it. We stamp your logbook.

Do you stamp the logbook?

Yes. Every logbook service is stamped and dated so your service history stays unbroken for resale.

Do you service my make?

We service every make and model, European and Japanese, Australian built and imported. If you are not sure, ring us and ask.

What if you find something that is not on the service schedule?

We call you before touching it. You get told what it is, what it costs and whether it needs doing now or can wait. Nothing extra happens without your say so.
